Hi Jim,
Exciting to hear that you are interested in getting a lab from Audry!  My wife and I were very pleased with the entire process...from finding her online, contact, to receiving our puppy.  She was very professional, yet personal with helping us.  She knew we had two small children and was sure that our puppy was a perfect fit.  Melina (our dog) was the last of the litter and Audry spoke very highly of her and her disposition.  From our experience we could not say enough about our dog!  We received Melina at 9 weeks old and she has been so well mannered and a pleasure to have around since the beginning.  To answer your question about why we chose Audry....Melina was available as soon as we wanted and I knew I had to act fast before my wife changed her mind.  To this day I think my wife is the happiest one in the house with the decision!!

We live in the Chicagoland area, so Melina had to fly to us.  We attached pictures of her arrival just because it went so well.  If you are close enough to pick her up you are lucky, but the flight worked just great if you are not.  Today Melina is about 8 months old and doing great.  Our children are almost 3 and 5 and she is so good with them.  We did take her to obedience training which she did phenomenal...youngest one there and probably one of the best.  Obviously labs are smart dogs to begin with, but she just has a great disposition all around.

We have attached pictures of Melina when we received her and also of her today......We hope you decide to go with Audry, you will be happy!

Thanks for emailing,

Audrey-

I can't tell you how much we love Jack. I'm not sure what you were feeding Rita while she was pregnant, but I think it had some sort of IQ booster in it.

Seriously, we didn't have to potty train the guy. From the first day he came home he let us know that he needs to go outside. Its amazing. The first time I told him to sit, he sat. I don't know what you did to this puppy...but I sure am glad that he came home with us.

He only chews his toys. Hasn't had a single instance chewing anything he isn't supposed to, well, except for his weak spot...my grill. But that is acceptable considering the breed.

I literally could write you story upon story of how myself, my wife, and any visitors to the house we have had are blown away at how calm, obedient and intelligent Jack is. Just this weekend we took him on a walk OFF LEASH! He never once tried to wander off. Stayed right next to me the entire time.

He is probably the most calm puppy I have ever seen. If he isn't sleeping he is just sitting by your side waiting for you to play with him, looking for nothing more than to make you happy.

What a great companion.

I've linked a set of images of Jack. Feel free to download them and post them on your site if you'd like. If you want hi-res print quality versions of any of them let me know. And I've got hundreds more of the little guy and will have hundreds more in the future, especially with the holidays coming up.

If I can be of any help giving a testimonial or a reference, let me know. I will send anyone and everyone that I know of looking for a Lab to only one breeder from now on.

Audry,

We received Achilles Cornelius Burtis (Cornelius) from you coming up on 3 years now. He was from Gus ATCHAFALAYA MANDIGO and Sillwaters LIL Lady born on 07/30/2007.

I can not begin to thank you for him. He is such a wonder full dog with this family. The kids now 7, 10 and 13 have played with him so much and he has never once ever growled ever. He is such a majestic loving animal. Of course we spoil him he is allowed to sleep on the bed with me and my wife, he sleeps in between us and loves to use the pillows. We got a stray dog 2 months after we got Achilles, she was at a local Post Office for a week without food and water so we decided to take her in. Those two are the best of friends. She is the guard dog as Achilles is just a big wuss. We have had Racoons come in from the cat door and at least he alerted us of it as he came jumping up in the bed to hide LOL.

My wife loves cats and we have had a few Kittens since we got Achilles. As you can see in the pictures attached I think he is alright with them.

I wish I could send you all the pictures of him but that would take forever. I hope you enjoy the pictures of him. Again I can not thank you enough for the precious gift you gave to our family. God bless you, your family and all the precious animals you have:))

Thanks,
Michael and Jennifer Burtis and kids

John,

Thank you for contacting us in regards to Audry and her amazing puppies!  I apologize about the late reply, we took a week off to spend time with our new addition and I've been away from my computer.

We first met Audry almost three years ago when we started the process of looking for the perfect puppy.  My fiancee started doing some research into local breeders and happened to stumble onto Blackfork's name which kept popping up as one of the best.  From the initial contact, Audry always kept us up to date with the weights and growth of the liter along with each puppies personality and awesome pictures!  We knew that when it was our turn to pick, we had the perfect one.  When our girl finally came home it was love at first lick.  Kuloc (a Hungarian pastry, my fiancee is a chef) was such a joy to have.  Her personality was laid back and she got along with everyone (especially our oldest lab, Bacsi) and was not afraid of anything.  Andrew's family has always had Labradors and he has been so amazed at how well she has behaved at such a young age.  Normally with labs, they don't grow out of their puppy stage for quite some time but Kuloc has been the exception.

We were a happy family until last summer when we lost Bacsi to cancer.  The loss definitely hit our family hard, especially Kuloc.  Bacsi and Kuloc were the best of friends and you could always find them together whether they were playing or snoring.  So we knew that in order to get Kuloc back to her old self again we would need to find her a new brother and our choice was easy, we would go back to Audry.  Over the last years, even when we weren't looking, we would always check the Blackfork website to see the new liters and the adorable puppy pictures.  So when we saw the planned breeding of Dunbar and Blaze we knew that we wanted our new guy to come from them.  Anticipation is always the killer, but as soon as the liter was born Audry let us know immediately and we got to see our boy!

All of Andrew's family is of Hungarian ancestry and it has been a family tradition to name all of their labs with a Hungarian name.  Bacsi (Bach.e) meant "the eldest/wise old man of the village" and Kuloc (Kul.o.ch) (we later found out that we spelled it wrong, but hey, it works) is a Hungarian pasty.  So to keep with the family tradition we decided to go with Voros which is the Hungarian word for "red".  From the moment we met him, Voros, or V, has filled our hearts and our house with joy!  Kuloc and him have gotten along great from the very beginning and they love to play!  It is so funny to see Voros follow Kuloc around and try to do everything his big sister does.  He's not afraid of anything, get's along great with Kuloc, loves to meet new people and is extremely smart.  He has already learned how to come and to sit!  The very first night we had him and put him in his crate for bed he whimpered three times, laid down and went to sleep.  That was the only time he ever objected to being in his crate.  With Kuloc, we thought that we had just gotten lucky to have gotten a pup who was so well behaved with a great temperament and amazing character.  But, after seeing how Voros has behaved after just this short time, we are convinced that it is due to Audry and the love and care she takes for her pups.

Each time we picked up our new pup, Audry made sure that they were riding safe and comfortable.  Kuloc was the only pup Audry had with her when we picked her up but for Voros she had an entire van full.  All of the pups were riding in separate crates with their litter mates to make them feel comfortable and she had her friend with her to help her out.  None of the dogs seemed distressed or that they even minded being in the crate or car, they were just having a good time playing.  We also brought Kuloc with us when we picked up Voros so Audry could see her again.  Audry was very excited to see her; that made us feel even better about working with Audry.  When you are buying from a breeder there is always a concern that they are doing it just for the money; but, when we saw how much Audry cares for all of her pups we knew her intentions were good.

I hope that I didn't bore you and that I was able to answer your questions and hopefully sway you towards Blackfork.  All dogs are different but I can guarantee you that you will never regret your decision if you buy a pup from Audry.  If you have any other questions for us, please don't hesitate to give us a shout!  I have attached some pictures of our pups, we hope you like them!

Take care and good luck!!!

Andrew, Kris, Kuloc and Voros
